Eco Schools (Green Flag Award)

On Thursday 30th March 2017, St Margaret’s  Church of England Primary School were awarded the Green Flag from Eco Schools, Keep Britain Tidy.

The whole school worked very hard to achieve this award from individual class lessons, learning about Recycling, Reducing and Reusing.

The children took part in workshops during “Waste Week”  making models of elephants, small creature and fish from recycled materials, it was great fun, we have an amazing display in the school.

The children in year 3 visited MuRFy’s World the local recycling centre and learnt about recycling, reducing and reusing waste materials from the house hold.

The school took part in the National  “Great British Spring Clean”

Everybody has worked extremely hard on all the activities to help win this award, including litter picking every day to help keep the school environment clean, turning off the computers, lights and interactive white boards every break and lunch time.

We have also been involved in the “Seed to Plate” project growing from seed, eating the produce that we have grown at lunch time, Gardening club, Walks on Wednesdays project.

A massive achievement by all !!! Brilliant
